Creative director: sophie delafontaineinspiration: it’s on the 25th floor, with a bird's eye view of all of manhattan, that longchamp gave a rendezvous for its fourth show in new york, with young actresses and influencers from around the world and of course the presence of kendall jenner, the muse of the house.a seventies touch, with references to cult actresses like catherine deneuve or romy schneider.collection: strong and assertive silhouettes, for women daring to wear as much deep colours like cognac, terracotta, green or blood red, as rich textures like different leathers and suede. we find the flowing dresses playing with sensuality worn with short jackets composed of shearling collars. suede is found on bras and tops highlighted by their colour and belted at the waist. long bermuda shorts are becoming an essential. the red patinated leather makes a noticeable appearance, as do the boots with balls on the front, referring to the sculptures of john chamberlain made from car parts.to note: the new bags, with a micro-mini or oversized version of the pliage bag, or the reissue of the iconic longchamp 1980 bag, elegant and timeless made in embossed crocodile leather.+ liya kebede who closed the showwith interviews:sophie delafontaine:for me, the 70s are mostly iconic women like romy schneider, carole bouquet, catherine deneuve, in films like "the things of life" from which we had music today, and it’s true that these women are very inspiring, for their elegance and femininity, but at the same time they are real characters. in fact, what i tried to express in the collection is to have 40 characters, 40 different personalities, who in their own way are women today, they can be feminine, graphic, more structured, in heels or trainers, but they are strong personalities of today.leather is our know-how, it's a pleasure to work with and it's true that in the clothes it takes on a particular look that we can play with and in this collection i liked to twist the materials, so mix suede leather with varnished or metallic boots with embroidered dresses and so i find that this is what is interesting about leather, there is a multitude of possible expressions and this is what i tried to do.storm reid:the show was amazing, it’s was sophisticated, it was funky, it was fun, i love all the boots, i told to sophie i need all the boots.music from the show (to use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information)
