Fendi Show - Women's Collection Autumn/Winter 2018/19 in Milan

Artistic Director: Karl LagerfeldDirector of menswear and accessories: Silvia Venturini FendiCollection: the logo is the central theme with a masculine/feminine spirit. Tartan and check are used for a miniskirt or a trench with pleated pieces and a plastic effect. A blend of materials with fur and fur-effect wool. The double F logo is present throughout, on a sweater, a coat… The shoulders are pronounced and covered in a mini cape. Femininity is expressed with English embroidery inspired by old handkerchiefs, on the collar or the pocket of a coat or on a delicate and fluid dress. Focus: on the cape, the new coat for winter and the new accessory which covers the shoulders (with even a knitted version) and entirely mink tailoring. To note: the cowboy boots and the newly reinterpreted peekaboo bag plus a mini bucket bag. + The graphic diamond print embroidered with beads+ The palette of very autumnal materials, which matches the temperature and the rainy Milan weather.Interviews: Silvia Venturini Fendi: A romantic uniform for the women who have more and more power and so they no longer need to dress in the masculine codes, but they can blend them, they can also show their feminine and romantic side. We were inspired by the embroidered handkerchief with the initials that women gave to men when they left, but today, we’ve blended them with the clothes for a woman who isn’t in the house, who really in life, marches in the street.There was a re-appropriation of the Fendi logo, we blended the Fendi and Fila logos, invented by Hey Reilly and so we used that as well.Chloé: I love the fact that they are bringing back the classic Fendi symbol, and I think they’re reinventing it so wonderfully and with the new CEO it’s an exciting shift in the brand and I think it feels young, it feels invigorated, with the same classic and iconic shapes and silhouettes that we know and love from Fendi.
