Alexander Wang Spring Summer Collection 2014 in New York

The spearhead of a new generation of American designers, Alexander Wang (also the young artistic director of symbolic label Balenciaga) presented to New York a summertime style where the pleated mini-dress suddenly became the leading piece of the season, worn high-waisted,matched with a top or a bralette cut off above the bellybutton. The loose-fitting trousers or the long Bermuda shorts, worn in the same style, above the stomach and equipped with large turned dozn pockets on the sides. The pierced leather named after the designer, gives lightness to a straight coat or a pleated dress with a pair of braces crossing at the back. The figure is at once the neatest, the least cluttered, and at the same time sporty and urban, a mix that the designer has perfected, by always preserving a certain rigour in the cut and the material.
