Biossance to launch across all 668 Sephora Inside JCPenney stores
The expansion into all Sephora Inside JCPenney stores is part of a growth trajectory for the clean beauty company that was originally funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Biossance has forecast 300% sales growth for 2018.
"We continue to be encouraged by the momentum in our clean beauty business,” said Caroline Hadfield, president of Biossance in a statement, adding, “This is fostering broader market penetration and solid business performance for Biossance.”
The brand was the first fully Environmental Working Group (EWG) Verified brand to be sold at Sephora, a certification it received for blacklisting 2,000 potentially harmful toxic ingredients. In addition to clean ingredients, Biossance also uses tree-free responsible packaging.
Biossance is a strong seller at Sephora in the US and is currently sold at 140 locations in the country. It has also been introduced in Canada and Brazil.
The national launch in all Sephora Inside JCPenney stores is slated to roll out in September. The brand will then be available at 800 retail locations.
