World's largest Primark to feature beauty studio and three dining experiences

Primark is pulling out all the stops for its largest store in the world, opening in Birmingham in April.

The 160,100 sq ft store will be almost four times the size of the retailer’s existing store in the city, taking over the five floors of the former Pavilions shopping centre. It was due to open in December, but Primark delayed the opening to spring 2019 to facilitate some additional work.

Now it has emerged that the massive shop will open on 11 April, and employ an impressive 1,000 people. A spokesperson for the fashion giant confirmed the Birmingham High Street store will be the largest in the retailer’s portfolio and the number 187th in the UK.

In addition to selling the latest trends in womenswear, menswear and kidswear including footwear and accessories, as well as lingerie, beauty and homeware, the store will feature a beauty studio for nails, make-up, hair, eyebrows and lashes, a barber shop​ and “three unique and amazing dining experiences”, the spokesperson announced.

The superstore is taking things further by providing a personalisation service, recharge seating areas and free WiFi.

At 155,000 sq ft, Primark’s Manchester store is currently the largest in its portfolio.
