Tory Burch appoints former Prada executive as head of Europe, Middle East
US label Tory Burch is strengthening its senior management team. Nearly two months after appointing Pierre-Yves Roussel, formerly with the LVMH group and the husband of Tory Burch, as CEO, the US label has appointed ex-Prada executive Stefano Sutter to the newly created post of president Europe and Middle East.
Formerly the regional director of the Prada Group’s northern Europe business, in charge of Prada and Miu Miu, Sutter is starting in his new role on February 4.
Before joining Prada in 2010, Sutter also worked for five years at Spanish group Inditex, where he held among others the post of general manager for central Europe, in charge of Zara, Massimo Dutti and Oysho.
In November 2018, Tory Burch, which operates 250 monobrand stores and is distributed via 3,000 multibrand retailers worldwide, bought back the stake it sold in 2009 to Montecarlo-based investment fund Tresalia Capital. The operation increased the stake held by the label’s founder and its main shareholders General Atlantic and BDT Capital Partners.
In 2010, Tory Burch opened a European flagship in London, where it now operates three stores, alongside others in Paris, Milan, Rome, Munich and Istanbul. The label also indicated it is growing in influence in the Middle East.
