Swatch x Omega MoonSwatch collab is StockX bestseller at premium prices

The Swatch and Omega Bioceramic MoonSwatch 11-piece collection has been an early sell-out and demand has been so high that StockX has been feeling its effects.

The online resale marketplace for sneakers and other collectibles said the launch seems to have been a big success for Swatch and Omega with it sold out in-store, but it has also “quickly become the best-selling watch release in StockX history when ranked by release-week trades”.

The collection draws inspiration from planets including Mars, Saturn, and Neptune and this has clearly struck a chord with consumers. Stock X said that it's seen almost 2,000 trades of the collection in less than a week with the highest premiums StockX has ever seen in the watches category.

Since March 26, Swatch x Omega pieces have traded for around $900 on average, or 250% above retail, with prices actually ranging from $816 to $1,040.

The Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission to the Moon is the best-selling item of the collection thus far and currently boasts an average resale price of $995, nearly quadruple its original retail price of $260.

But the Uranus version has become the most valuable, with an average price of $1,040.

It also said that on March 26, “Swatch x Omega" was a top 10 search term on StockX. More people searched for it than classic sneaker and streetwear terms like Yeezy 350, Jordan 11, and Supreme.

The collab was also the second most-traded link-up on the platform on March 26, just behind the Nike Air Max x Concepts release, which coincided with Nike Air Max Day on the same day.

It also expects trade volume to increase even further once Swatch x Omega is released online. However, this will likely drive down resale prices, “though we expect to see significant long-term price premiums given the extraordinary demand for this collab”, StockX said.
