In order to strengthen its presence in the Swiss market, Shiseido has taken control of 100% of its Swiss distributor for the import and sale of Shiseido group products in the country.

The new group, called Shiseido SA, is headquartered in Geneva and is hoping to make a mark on the global stage via its distribution network.

In 2009 Shiseido expanded into new markets, including Egypt, Morocco, Laos and Azerbaijan and reinforced its position in existent regions such as in Greece and with a joint venture in Vietnam with a subsidiary company.
