Safilo wins Moschino licence

Safilo has announced the addition of a prestigious new licence to its brand portfolio. The eyewear collections of the luxury fashion label belonging to Italian group Aeffe were previously handled by Allison.

The agreement between Moschino and the Italian eyewear group controlled by Dutch investment fund Hal will last 8 years, from January 2018 to end December 2025, with a renewal option for another 8 years. It covers the design, production and worldwide distribution of Moschino and Love Moschino sunglasses and eyeglasses, the group has stated in a press release.

With the arrival of Jeremy Scott as Creative Director of Moschino in 2013, the fashion label has become influential again, taking off towards renewed success. In other words, this is an interesting partnership for the eyewear manufacturer, which reckons it has "a significant growth potential."

"We were looking for a brand with a difference, one that could add a touch of irony to our premium range, and we have found it in Moschino's exuberant creativity," enthused the CEO of Safilo, Luisa Delgado.
