Rip Curl Europe: Wilco Prins replaced by Matthieu Lefin as president

Wilco Prins has left Rip Curl Europe. From 2013, Prins was the president of the surfing brand’s European subsidiary based in Hossegor, France. Prins worked for 18 years at Rip Curl, and handed over the leadership of Rip Curl Europe to Matthieu Lefin, who a year ago was appointed as the group’s global GM operations, a position he maintains.

At the end of last year, Yann Tschumi, until then Rip Curl’s vice-president sales Europe, joined the Compressport group as general manager. Tschumi worked for more than six years at Rip Curl.

Rip Curl Europe is part of the Rip Curl group, whose headquarters are in Torquay, Australia. The group was founded in 1969 by Brian Singer and Doug Warbrick. The former is still president of the group's board of directors. The Rip Curl group is led by Michael Daly, and has not disclosed details about its financial performance. Its annual revenue is reported to be approximately €300 million (between AUD450 million to 500 million). Rip Curl Europe generates a revenue of approximately €50 million.
