Lush inaugurates in Liverpool its largest store to date
British cosmetics brand and retailer Lush has chosen Liverpool as the home of its largest store worldwide. The 1,380 m2 flagship on three levels is located at 38-46 Church Street, and is five times larger than Lush’s previous store in Liverpool. According to Lush, the premises can store up to nine million units of the brand’s best-selling bath bombs.
The store, as well as over 300 new products, introduces a series of innovative retail concepts. The first is the Hair Lab, an area where Lush customers can enjoy haircuts and haircare treatments. The Perfume Library features Lush’s fragrance range and an array of books on perfumery. The store’s extra-large size enables it to also accommodate a Lush Spa with six treatment cabins.
The new Lush flagship has a florist section, offering locally sourced flowers and bouquets, and a section dedicated to Lush’s trademark range of cosmetics freshly made on site. Together, the latter two sections constitute Lush’s new Fresh & Flowers retail concept, due to open in Paris next June.
Lush was founded in the UK in 1995. It generates a revenue of about €850 million and operates over 930 stores worldwide. As far as innovative retail concepts are concerned, the Liverpool store is just the latest, as Lush for example launched the Naked store format in June 2018, reserved to packaging-free products. Lush Naked stores are now operating in the UK and Germany.
