Kingpins New York announces schedule change

Denim trade show Kingpins has announced a change to their 2019 New York show schedule. Originally set for June 8 through 9, the show will now take place from June 12 through June 13.

The reason for the change, representatives from the trade show announced in a press release, has to do with a combination of concerns over the New York show's proximity to religious observances and the Kingpins' Hong Kong event. 

“We received feedback that our New York show was too close to Ramadan and came too closely on the heels of our Kingpins Hong Kong Show, which takes place May 15-16,” said Andrew Olah, founder of Kingpins Show and Kingpins Transformers. “Our new June 12-13 dates allow us to accommodate our exhibitors and attendees and best serve our community.”

Kingpins Transformers, the company's bi-annual conference on finding solutions to the social, environmental and economic challenges facing the denim industry, will also be rescheduled to June 11. 

New York Denim Days, a denim shopping event, will keep its original dates, hosting its festival celebrating all things indigo on June 8-9.

This year's Kingpins New York show will also play host host to a vintage market located at Pier 36, allowing attendees to shop vintage denim in anticipation of the fall/winter 2020 season.
