Jean-Charles de Castelbajac’s future to be decided at roundtable discussions

Published
May 18, 2011

As announced earlier this week, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac’s company was put into administrative receivership since the beginning of the month. Since then, the designer has been searching for a solution to rescue the business, and it seems like he is finally about to find one.

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac just confirmed that he is in talks with the company’s current owner, Swedish group Sixth AP Fund, as well as several potential partners, whose names still remain unknown. The designer himself also wishes to regain a minority stake in business along the process.

If discussions end towards the middle of June as expected, it would mean that the brand’s ownership will have changed hands three times in the space of seven years. It was bought from Jean-Charles de Castelbajac in 2004 by Marchpole before the latter went into receivership and had to resell the brand to Sixth AP Fund, which is now passing it on again.
