Iconix Brand Q3 profit tops Street view

Nov 3 (Reuters) - Iconix Brand Group Inc posted a better-than-expected quarterly profit, as licensing and other revenue rose 29 percent, but forecast 2008 results at the lower end of its earlier range.

The company, which owns and licenses a popular collection of brands like Candie's, Joe Boxer and Rocawear, earned $18.3 million for the third quarter, compared with $17.0 million a year earlier.

For 2008, the company had previously forecast earnings of $1.15 to $1.20 a share, and revenue of $215 million to $220 million.

The New York-based company expects 2009 earnings growth of about 8 percent and revenue growth of about 7 percent.

Shares of the company closed at $10.89 Friday on Nasdaq.
