George Esquivel and Gregory Parkinson launch footwear capsule

Custom footwear designer George Esquivel has teamed up with textile designer Gregory Parkinson on a footwear capsule showcasing Parkinson's canvas block prints on classic Esquivel silhouettes.

The footwear collection is comprised of lace-up oxfords, mules, and chukka boots. The capsule also includes printed folios and tote bags.

Esquivel Shoes announced the collection on Instagram saying, "These are from our collab with our good friend and textile guru [Gregory Parkinson] . The collection is made from fabrics that are hand dyed in India."

The designers go on to encourage customers to "Stop by and play designer for a day," choosing their own print and color combo.

Esquivel is known for his handmade custom footwear and leather goods, and has celebrity fans including Gwen Stefani, Bruno Mars and LeBron James.

All styles in the collaboration are custom made to order and take six to seven weeks to ship. Footwear is priced from $600 to $650, while totes are $775 and folios are between $250 and $350.

The designers have taken the capsule on a trunk show-style tour to get the word out about the collaboration. Stops have included A’maree’s in Newport Beach and LFrank Jewelry in Venice, CA.
