Filson opens second New York City flagship

Filson, the Washington state-based outdoor lifestyle brand, has announced it will open a new New York flagship on November 9.

Located just a few blocks away from Union Square Park, the new 6,000-square-foot flagship will carry the brand's full range of men’s and women’s apparel, as well as a selection of Filson's luggage and bags, accessories, and fishing, hunting and camping gear. 

The new location's interior design features a reclaimed 1850s Douglas fir barn from Oregon – an homage to the brand's 1800s origin –, a 14-foot-tall chainsaw-carved wolf sculpture, a 3D wood-carved wall sculpture and wood decor from the Pacific Northwest.

Headquartered in Seattle, Washington and known for its outdoor apparel and gear made in the USA, the privately owned outfitter appeals to outdoor enthusiasts and has previously been dubbed an arbiter of "lumbersexual" style. 

Known for its use of durable fabrics and materials like Filson's original Tin Cloth, twill and Mackinaw wool, the brand also provides its customers with a variety of repair and customization options, including footwear resoling and rewaxing, as well as custom binding and helmet chin straps.

The brand will host grand opening events for the new flagship on November 11, 17 and 18, offering food, drinks, raffles, workshops and product demos. 

The new store will join Filson's other New York City store in NoHo, which opened in 2014. The brand currently operates locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, and also has stores in London and Tokyo.
