Camper aims for 22% revenue growth to reach €146 million in 2021

Spanish footwear brand Camper recorded a 28% drop in sales, down to €120 million, in the pandemic-hit 2020 fiscal year, but it is set to get back on the growth track in 2021, forecasting a 22% growth and a revenue of €146 million.

Online sales are contributing strongly to this result: before 2020, the e-tail channel generated 30% of the company's revenue, but the share rose to 50% in 2021, equivalent to €73 million.

Camper's current fiscal year was marked by the opening of stores in Shanghai and Düsseldorf, while the footwear brand also took back control of its business in China and Hong Kong. However, Camper’s strategy isn’t focused on expanding its physical retail network. “We don’t need to expand our network: the majority of our growth will come from e-tail,” said Camper’s managing director Miguel Fluxà.

For 2022, Camper is targeting sales worth €175 million, according to statements made by Fluxà to Spanish daily paper El País.

Camper was founded in 1975 in Inca, on the island of Mallorca. Its products are available in some 50 countries at more than 300 monobrand stores, either directly owned or franchised. Camper accounts for virtually the entire revenue of the Forch Med holding company.

The brand has recently inaugurated a Christmas market in Paris, and the Casa Camper hotel in Berlin.
