Badgley Mischka to support Hurricane Dorian victims with Spring/Summer 2020 fashion show

Badgley Mischka is supporting the victims of Hurricane Dorian this New York Fashion Week.

The US fashion and lifestyle label will debut its Spring 2020 collection Wednesday in New York, but in a nod to the collection's Caribbean inspiration, it will donate 10% of the proceeds of all sales made on the day of the show to the Red Cross in order to support the people impacted by the natural disaster.

"Considering the tragic devastation caused by Hurricane Dorian, while the newest collection celebrates sunshine, white sandy beaches, and breezy afternoons set against turquoise water and the chic refinement that is associated with the top-rated resorts in the Caribbean region, 10% of all BadgleyMischka.com sales on the day of the runway show will be donated to the Red Cross to help those most affected," read a statement from the brand.

The collection channels the elegance of the Caribbean, which has always been a hotspot for some of the biggest celebrities in the world. "We started Spring 2020 by thinking about Claudette Colbert, when she left Hollywood behind and brought a relaxed glamour to the Caribbean, specifically to Barbados," said Badgley Mischka co-founder and designer Mark Badgley.

"From there we expanded to include all of the fabulous expats that brought elegance in the way they dressed and entertained, from Ian Fleming in Jamaica to the Jaggers in Mustique," co-founder and designer James Mischka elaborated.

The brand has teamed up with SAP on a ‘Runway by SAP' app that will allow fashion fans to livestream the Spring/Summer 2020 show and pre-order items from the collection.
