Acne Studios tests new store concept in Copenhagen

The Swedish luxury house opened a new store in Copenhagen’s Illum department store, complete with a new concept that will become the backbone for future Acne Studios stores around the world.

The new 70 m² boutique located at Østergade 5 on the womenswear floor has a gallery feel, defined by minimalistic stainless steel walls, and is designed to present the ready-to-wear collection, as well as footwear and accessories, as individual objects.

Handmade furniture in bronze and styrofoam gives the area a modern artisanal contrast to the cleanliness of the steel, while soft seating creates an inviting space.

Acne Studio’s new store concept will be replicated in the label’s upcoming flagship store in Berlin, as well as in additional locations in New York.

Founded by Jonny Johansson in 1997, Acne Studios sells men’s and women’s designs as well as footwear, accessories and denim. In addition to its new Copenhagen store, it has boutiques in cities such as London, Stockholm, Hong Kong, Osaka, Paris, Seoul and New York.
