Moda strengthens content programme with new interactive features

Moda, the fashion trade show taking place in Birmingham in February, has revealed details of its new content programme, describing it as its ‘biggest and most dynamic’ programme of talks and workshops to date.

Hosted in partnership with WWD and MWB, the new features will add live and interactive elements to the show, with the programme designed to help retailers take advantage of new digital trends to maximise their business.

For the first time, retailers will be shown how to boost their sales by tapping into internet traffic via visual styling and promotion. For this, a live photoshoot will take place at the show, allowing visitors to watch and engage as the editor of MWB Magazine Victoria Jackson gives tips on props, styling, photography and product presentation.

“Fashion is a visual industry, and we are bringing styling into the spotlight with an interactive event that we hope will appeal to visitors and exhibitors alike,” says Jackson. “Simple props and presentation can really increase the appeal of a collection on social media platforms, and we hope that brands and retailers alike will be inspired from both a styling and merchandising perspective as they head into the new season.”

The show’s workshop area is also returning for AW18 with an appointments system, creating not only a space for buyers to speak to industry experts following their on-stage presentations, but also ensuring everybody gets free, expert advice during their visit to the show.

As part of the menswear focus, a panel discussion focusing on the New Dandy and the direction of menswear will headline the seminar programme. Fashion and lifestyle blogger blogger Carl Thompson will be joined by Marc Darcy’s creative director Karen Johal and Master Debonair owner Simon Whittaker to talk about the hottest looks and styles for the season.

The next edition of Moda will take place on 18-20 February at the NEC, Birmingham. Some of the brands exhibiting at the AW18 show will include Wrangler, K Swiss, Ecco, Superga, Tamaris, Hardy & Parsons and Ben Sherman
