Elle launches training for fashion and luxury managers

Published
Oct 16, 2017

Following Condé Nast in 2013, Lagardère Active has launched itself into the training and networking business via its brand, Elle.

The division for managing the international development of the brand just announced that it will launch the “Elle International Fashion and Luxury Management Programme” in December in partnership with both the American university MIT and the Universidad Complutense in Madrid.

Elle International Fashion & Luxury Management

The target audience are executives from the fashion and luxury sectors who are looking to develop their skills and build a new network of contacts over the course of the six month long programme.

The programme will alternate online training phases with four one week long course modules, the first being scheduled for January and the last being scheduled for May. The English language non-diploma course is international and will take place in four different locations: Madrid, Paris, New York, and Boston, where it will be held on the premises of MIT.

The programme will address a range of themes depending on the location in which it is held and the local fashion economy there. These include the fast fashion model in Madrid, luxury and Haute Couture in Paris, the premium segment in New York, and the innovation of MIT.

Courses will also cover current developments in marketing, strategy, and finance to give a global approach. The course will also feature case studies and involvement from key personalities in the industry such as employees of Louis Vuitton (Michael Burke), Christian Dior (Sidney Toledano), and Clarins (Christian Courtin- Clarins), among others.

Condé Nast and their Vogue brand have chosen a fixed model in London, offering several types of training for different audiences, from students to professionals in the industry encompassing both design and management. Elle, on the other hand, has chosen to go with a flexible and more mobile programme with the possibility of choosing modules.

This programme is a new venture for the Elle brand and one that could prove lucrative if successful. This is because the programme will be offered at prices ranging from 16,000 euro for access to online content only and up to 25,000 euro for physical access to all of the courses offered at the four locations.
