Boohoo appoints tech entrepreneur to board of directors

Online fashion retailer Boohoo has announced the appointment of retail tech entrepreneur Pierre Marie Jean-Louis Cuilleret as non-executive director, with immediate effect.

Pierre is the founder of The Phone House, which became the number one independent mobile phone retailer in Europe and was acquired by the Carphone Warehouse Group.

He has also been CEO of Micromania, the number one video game retailer in France, where he oversaw the acquisition by Gamestop Group, and served as independent non-executive director of Distribuidora Internacional de Alimentacion SA, a Spanish food retailer.

He is also currently an independent non-executive director on the board of Barcelona-based fashion retailer Desigual SLU.

At Boohoo, the entrepreneur will sit on each of the company's audit, remuneration and nomination committees.

The board very much look forward to working with him,” said Peter Williams, non-executive Chairman.

Boohoo is expected to report blockbuster figures for the first half of the year, boosted by its PrettyLittleThing acquisition.

The AIM-listed company will release its interim results on 27 September.
